Volunteer Opportunities and Trainings |
Green Star Schools Helpers
Students in Green Star Schools don't just throw their lunch trays in the trash, they reuse them. They also recycle and compost an average of two-thirds of all their waste! Three additional Boulder County schools have just signed up to be Green Star Schools, and while the program is enormously popular with the kiddos, it's also a big adjustment. Do you have lunch time free on weekdays to volunteer in school cafeterias and help students sort their recyclables from their compostables? We’ll provide all necessary training. To help out, please e-mail Kary.
Frozen, Dead, but Not Wasteful: Frozen Dead Guy Days Goes for Zero March 6-8, Nederland Yup, you read the headline correctly. Eco-Cycle is working with this fun and quirky event in Nederland to make it Zero Waste. We need your help to make sure all the frozen dead guys, er, thawed men and women, participate in and learn about Zero Waste. If you have a few hours to help out, please e-mail Alyssa.
Upcoming Volunteer Trainings
If you’re new to the volunteer team or looking for a refresher, join us for an Eco-Leader training. These two hours are well spent: you'll learn about Eco-Cycle, our history, Zero Waste and more, including insider information about recycling guidelines. RSVP with Caroline.
* March 14, 10 a.m. - noon, Longmont (location TBA) * May 12, 6:30-8:30 p.m., CHaRM (Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials) in Boulder

For $41, 41pounds.org contacts 20-35 direct mail companies—including almost all credit card applications, coupon mailers and more—to remove your name from their distribution lists. They do all the legwork, reduce your junk mail by 80-95% for five years and donate $15 of your purchase to Eco-Cycle! Learn more and get started today!
THANK YOU for helping Eco-Cycle and our community become a Zero Waste model for the world. Support our mission and make a tax-free donation online.
