Eco-Cycle Times Arrival Update |
The Spring/Summer Eco-Cycle Times newsletter is a great source of Zero Waste information. Check out this issue for our big news on single-stream recycling, including when it's expected to arrive to a recycling bin near you. Also, read about the new materials accepted at the CHaRM — bike tires and tubes!
Newsletters will be delivered to Block Leaders in mid to late May. If you can’t wait for our latest issue, you can read it online or swing by the CHaRM or the Boulder, Longmont or Broomfield drop-off centers to pick up a copy today.
Need a clarification of your delivery route? Going to be out of town? Can you pick up your bundles? Please let us know.
Join us for our bundling party to help prepare newsletters for your fellow volunteers! Sign up here.
Enjoy getting out and about in Boulder County? We’re looking for volunteers to help spread Zero Waste news in our Boulder County mountain towns by delivering Eco-Cycle Times newsletters to businesses and community centers in these areas.

It's Coming! Single-Stream Recycling at Your Curb |
Single-stream recycling makes using the recycling bin easier than before! It will allow for both recycling streams — mixed paper/cardboard and commingled containers — to be combined into ONE bin.
Eco-Cycle operates the Boulder County Recycling Center (BCRC), the facility that processes your recyclables, and we are working with the county to upgrade the sorting equipment for when both streams are mixed together. We’ll still need you to sort your garbage from your recyclables, but you’ll find that mixing the recyclables together into one bin instead of two will be much more convenient.
We'll keep you posted with further program details and start dates for each city (applying to collection services whose materials go to the BCRC). So stay tuned! In the meantime, check out the latest edition of the Eco-Cycle Times to learn more about single-stream recycling and how it is a vital step toward meeting our goal of building a Zero Waste community.

| Eco-Leader Highlight: Meet Lisa Bailey |
With so many of you fantastic volunteers out there, we at Eco-Cycle love to share your stories. This month, we’re highlighting Lafayette’s winner of the Zero Waste Eco-Leader award, Lisa Bailey.
Lisa Bailey was a primary leader in Lafayette Recycles, the citizens group that helped bring curbside recycling to all residents in her hometown of Lafayette. She organized neighbors to advocate for increased recycling service and led a citizen-run community meeting with more than 100 attendees. Lisa has been a volunteer Block Leader in her neighborhood since 1996, the first year Eco-Cycle started working in Lafayette. Energized by the success of the Lafayette Recycles campaign, Lisa decided to increase her leadership in her neighborhood by becoming a Region Leader, coordinating and orienting the volunteer Block Leaders in her area. She’s now recruiting more volunteers to join the Eco-Leader team in her region. Thank you Lisa!
Thank you to all volunteers for everything you’re doing to make Zero Waste a reality in Boulder and Broomfield Counties!
